Tex A Que Competition Barbeque team is made up of the husband and wife duo, Patrick and Shyla Lambert.  Both are Texas transplants living in beautiful Arizona. 

As it was hard to find authentic Texas style barbeque in the Phoenix area, the team began experimenting in the backyard with good results. 

...AND SO IT BEGAN...

During the Summer of 2006, Shyla surprised Patrick with a Diamond Plate 60 Series Smoker. (Thanks to the Texas relatives who picked it up and hauled it out this way).

It was about this time that Patrick decided to try his hand at the Arizona BBQ competition circuit, which was also just getting started. 

With support, encouragement and free labor from family and friends Tex A Que began competing in local events in the Fall of 2006.  With time, practice, experience and a lot of advice from the barbeque community Tex A Que became an "award-winning" team.  

...AND SO IT CONTINUES... Tex A Que currently competes in competition events organized by both the Kansas City Barbecue Society and the International Barbecue Cookers Association.  

We hope to one day earn an invitation to compete in one or more of the Nation’s premier barbeque events.  In the meantime, our main goal is to have some fun, cook some great food and make our friends and fans happy!
